Shawn,
I've excavated a domestic site in central Kentucky that was constructed
circa 1790s it has a large, semi-subterranean cellar (24'x36') with a
fireplace at one end. The report includes a chapter discussing the
architecture and relates certain building characteristics including the
basement to ethnic and regional influences. Send me your email address and I
will send you more information if your interested.
