The conference sounds very interesting. Do you know if anyone is doing a session or paper dealing with whaling in the Pacific or whaling and its impacts on indigenous people in the Pacific. I am currently researching on native Hawaiian seamen in Pacific whaling, but wasn't sure if it would fit into your program.

Maritime Frontiers: Historical and Technological Perspectives
The Annual Conference of the Australasian Institute for Maritime
Archaeology (AIMA) is to be
held in Port Arthur, Tasman Peninsula, Tasmania from 9 November to 13
November 2003.
The Conference will be hosted by the Port Arthur Historic Site Management
Authority (PAHSMA)
with the support of the Tasmanian Heritage Office and Heritage Victoria.
The venue is the Port
