Didn't know he was a rocker. Rather, if you're referring to the 1944-born
Thomas, I know him from a 19+ min concerto for recorder and orchestra,
the title piece on Michala Petri's CD "Moonchild's Dream" (Kamu cond.
the English Chamber Orch; RCA Victor D 163891). It's a nice work, though
not my rave on this CD with impressive works by Malcolm Arnold, Gary
Kulesha (b 1954), Asger Lund Christiansen, and, by Vagn Holmboe, a
Concerto for Recorder, String orchestra, Celesta and Vibraphone -- in
my view, a particularly interesting work.
At just under 80', I don't know of any comparable anthology of top-flight
contemporary works for recorder and orchestra.
