You know you're getting old when performances you bought on LP when they
were first released are referred to as historical, a term I've always believed
meant pre-LP material.  I don't dispute Ramon's usage of the word, but I
wondered: have we got to the stage when recordings are like cars and might
usefully be assigned particular labels relative to their age?
