It seems for me that Ashkenazy apart being a good musician, is an excellent
businessmen, the number of recordings available astonishing, in any
Moscow CD store you can look in any section and find Ashkenazy everywhere.
Exemplary connections to a recording industry.  I am personally not so
impressed with his talent.  His a good conductor, impressive pianist,
but there are many more others which are different and outstanding.
