That makes three of us; despite one very knowleagable piano afficionado
once saying how hard fingered Katchen was: "quite brutal". I have never
forgiven Edward Heath (the then P.M in 1972, who kept a Clavicord at no
10.) for provoking the miners' Trades Union into providing such "striking"
problems; a power cut out of the blue had the stylus go straight across
the LP with the variations on a theme of Handel on it.
Back to Frank Muir: in a TV light hearted quiz-no idea of music; Steve
Race-Q: "What is a sub-dominant minor, Frank?" Frank Muir-A: "The minor
who didn't strike because his wife wouldn't let him". (wonder why Harry
calls me "She who must be obey'd?)
