I somethings think people remember films better than real life. Think of all
those veterans from D-Day and the invasion of France who saw and liked Saving
Private Ryan or The Longest Day. Most people in combat only see a very small
canvass as they work their way from one point to another. This is why so darn
many stories can be told from the same canvas... or archaeological site. Kinda
reminds me of the battlefield site we visited at the SHA Kansas City meetings
where Bill Lees said the historians got the wrong site of the battle and the
NPS bought a sterile hilltop, when in fact the battle artifacts have been
coming up in the farmer's field at the bottom of the hill.
