What makes you think invading Canada was an unusual contingency plan? Back
when surveying U.S. Navy China Laek sometime between 1970 and 1979, I
encountered a French Mirage jet that had been shot down in a training exercise. The
security folks were really upset the markings on the tail section were so visible,
but it was their fault they delayed in cleaning up the mess. It pays to be
prepared, so they say.
