I would say that the "Jourdan...no 15, etc"
inscription probably referrs to a merchant in Paris.
Rue de al Paix is a street in Paris (Opera Garnier &
Palace Vendome are both located on this street). I
haven't seen the vessel but seems similar to the
apothecary jar that was found @ Monticello's Mulberry
Row that most assume relates to Jefferson's time in
France. They have a pic of it on the Monticello
website. Was Jourdan a pharmacist or something like
