Saw it, also recommend it. I'm pretty much an egalitarian, but never gave
it a thought about there being all men. That was then, this is now. Most
of all, it was a refreshing change from the gratuitous violence, sex and
foul language that populates the modern movie. There was enough violence
in it to satisfy most bloodthirsty people, but it was more what I imagine
it would be like in 1805.

Seen it- and recommend it as a historical film though probably not if you
are a radical feminist as its all boys (literally) and men killing each
other for king and country or the emperor. A bit early for this group but
just saw the Discovery channel docu-drama on the Colliseum -really good
stuff though last week I saw Carl Dreyer's silent Jean D'Arc- magnifique
or whatever the Danish equivalent is.
