Just bvack from a trip to New Mexico. This is from a short two pager I
have written up for the USDA Forest Service's "Heritage Times" but has not
yet been published. It is this brief intro and a list of internet sites
that have dipping vat information. If anyone wants the whole thing just
let me know.
OK history buffs, let’s see if you can explain why the cattle drive
railhead was moved from Abilene to Dodge City. Do you still think that
“sheep dip” is “salad dressing gone bad” or it is something a graduate
student brings to a Department party? Do you really think you know what
state has the most recorded dipping vats? Are cows just a rumor in
Florida? If you THINK you know the answers to these questions, check out
these websites and prepare to have your ego deflated.
