A colleague in my department approached me to identify a copper object
turned in to her by an avocational collector who "saw the light" as a
result of a community awareness program for heritage resources . We
have no idea what this thing is. It is a fairly large (11 x 5 x 5 cm
approx) wedge/pointed/chunky object (is that scientific enough for you?)
which we assume is contact/historic in date, from a small island in
southern coastal British Columbia.
Can anybody help with similar examples or advice? I've posted photos
at:

Feel free to respond to the list, or to my email <[log in to unmask]> if
you would rather.
Thanks in advance,
Ross
