Has anyone run across a reed-stemmed clay tobacco pipe with a carved eagle
(with striped shield body) carved on either side of the bowl (actually,
carved on the mold).

I recently acquired at an Ohio auction a brass pipe mold but have seen no
pipes of this design. Unfortunately, absolutely no provenance on the
mold. B. Sudbury reports a somewhat similar pipe from Civil War contexts.

Happy to send a j-peg of the mold to anyone interested.
