Cool! I went to Field School at Ozette in the summer of '76...and then
worked there again in the summer of '79, shortly before they closed down
the operation. It was a fantastic experience to find all the "stuff" that
normally rots/disintegrates in normal situations. Of course working there
didn't exactly prepare me for working in San Diego Co. dry sites (where
I've done most of my fieldwork).
I have fond memories of Ozette and the wonderful people I met there. The
Makah built and run a great museum in Neah Bay that displays many of the
neat artifacts recovered from the "mud"...
Unfortunately I don't have a video program on my pc here at work (and we
are discouraged to load any unauthorized programs)...so I can't watch the
video...until I get home. Thanks for the notification though. :o)
