A few days back, Michel Bertignac inquired about Octavio Pinto. The New
Groves does not have an entry for Octavio Pinto, but there is an entry for
Luiz Alvarez Pinto, a Brazilian composer born in Recife in 1719, died in
Recife probably in 1789. The brief entry notes that he has been confused
with Luiz Alves Pinto, an early 19th century composer about which no more
is said.

There is also an entry for the Portuguese composer Francisco Antonio
Norberto dos Santos Pinto; born Lisbon 6 June 1815, died Lisbon 30 january
1860.

All the other Pintos listed are unlikely candidates.
