Hopefully you are familiar with Carl Nielsen's flute concerto, a work
to which "genteel" certainly would not apply; perhaps "agitated" and
"enigmatic" would be more apt.  I favor the recording with Frantz Lemmser
and Blomstedt with the Danish Radio Symphony Orchestra on EMI (which I
find far preferable to Rampal's recording for CBS).
