Larry Sherwood asks:

Larry also referred to them as the "Doll Dances", and that's the one
that appears to be most used. Anna Malikova includes these seven short
pieces in her Real Sound/RS disc devoted to Shostakovich; it also has
his Opus 34 Preludes.
I think the recording is pretty easy to obtain over the net; I got it
either from CDNOW or H&B Recordings. It either cost very little or the
regular price. I really don't remember, but I have a hunch that the
price varies substantially based on what sales source is used. The only
thing I fully know is that the disc is one of my current favorites.
Concerning Shostakovich light music, I rarely listen to it. Light music
isn't up my alley, and I am fortunate that Shostakovich wrote tons of
serious music; also, even when he's light, Shostakovich could well be
conveying serious and mixed themes.
