I love Alfred Brendel's Philips recordings of Haydn's piano sonatas, and
Andras Schiff isn't far behind.  For the symphonies, check out Colin Davis
on Philips.  Hickox on Chandos has put out a number of Haydn sacred choral
discs on period instruments which are very successful.  The Lindsays on ASV
get the most raves for their recordings of the string quartets, although
I'm not a big fan.
