If you are a Suor Angelica fan, I would spend the extra 20 bucks and pick
up Pappano's Il Trit with Christina Gallardo-Domas in the title role. What
a voice--what an accompaniment--what a great piece of music. It's one of
the few recordings of anything which leaves me feeling completely satisfied
in all respects.

Though I'm not that familiar with the other operas, I can report
that nothing offends and much is pleasing--though I'm finding myself
increasingly non-plussed by the Algana/Gheorguiu team. But no matter:
Gallardo-Domas steals the show in Suor.

Maybe it's available used at Amazon.

John, finally enjoying the cruelties of April.
