Star thistle in Cal.is a light yellow honey with a slight greenish tinge
and is very slow to granulate(wish I had some,my bees in the thistle seem
to be finding only rabbitbrush-yuck).I get an orange-brown honey from
Cascara(Sierra Coffeeberry) that turns foamy as soon as it is heated. It is
extremely slow to granulate and is said to have some medicinal
value.Cascara species are found throughout the world and apparently are
attractive to bees everywhere.
