I have to echo Larry's review, which was very well-written, but some
might say I am biased since I work for the organization (WPAS) that
brought Daniel Bernard Roumain to Washington. I am glad to see such a
positive response to our efforts to present something different, something
more eclectic. I know DBR's music isn't everyone's cup of tea, as some
have noted to me personally, but it is still important, I think, to
broaden our horizons. Overall though the response has been mostly
positive, so it gives us impetus to continue to programme music form
such as this. On top of it all, Daniel is a great educator as was evidence
from his week-long residency where he collaborated with various other
musicians and students.
Thanks Larry for taking the time to write your review.
