Steve Schwartz hit the nail twice. Franck's got the tunes.

I haven't heard the symphony in years, nor do I want to. The tunes are
still in my head, and I can get to them quicker than a CD.

Unfortunately, the first-movement theme is too much like the Fate theme
from Die Walkure. But Franck got it into my head first, as my father used
to sing "All is lost" to it when I was a kid.

For some, tunes aren't as important a factor, perhaps. The chromaticism
gets a bit slimy sometimes, too.
