A couple acres probably - for each hive. I've done small plantings,
which the bees work furiously, but don't add any significant weight
to the supers.
Burkett Mills, in Penn Yan, NY, if the are still in business, has long
been a seed source. I bought a bushel and it lasted several years,
but I did not attempt to harvest seed.
