Dear list,
An acquaintance in NYC sent the following message and I agreed to
forward it to BEE-L, in light of the recent discussions of Aurora's
ordinance problems. Her name is Jill Goodman and her email is
<[log in to unmask]>
I have bees on the roof of my brownstone in New York City
and the Department of Health wants me to get rid of them. A NYC ordinance
does forbid the keeping of wild animals and lists
honeybees among the forbidden animals. I am trying to find other people
who have had experiences with ordinance against beekeeping or Health
Departments that think bees are a nuisance per se, whether they have
done anything to bother anyone or not.
