Washington Musica Viva presents the 14th concert in the ongoing "Czech
Music Series" at The Embassy of the Czech Republic, Tuesday Sept.  24,
2002 at 7:30 pm.

The Embassy of the Czech Republic is at 3900 Spring of Freedom St
(formerly Linnean St.) NW, off Tilden St, east of Connecticut Ave.

The program includes three exciting masterpieces for strings and piano:
* Bohuslav Martinu's heroic F major viola sonata (from 1955).
* Pavel Borkovec's deeply expressive and energetic Sonata for violin
and piano.
* Antonin Dvorak's exuberant Piano Quartet in Eb Op. 87, full of
Bohemian motifs.

The performers include these top Washington area musicians: Mahoko Eguchi,
violin/viola, Jan Chong, violin, Janet Frank, cello, and Carl Banner,
piano.
