And let me put in a plug once again for the Ivan Fischer performances with
the Budapest Festival Orchestra on Philips--straight from headquarters,
with cimbalom and gypsy violin parts that add a dash of paprika to the
proceedings.  Rollicking and atmospheric, in my view, a welcome contrast
to the sober and lush Karajan readings on DG.
