Beth Anderson's String Quartets To Be Performed by Members of the Lexington
Philharmonic in Mt.  Sterling, Kentucky - November 3 Event Also Features
Lecture by Composer

Three string quartets by New York composer Beth Anderson will be performed
by members of the Lexington Philharmonic on Monday, November 3, 7 PM at
the First Church of God, Route 2, Camargo Road in Mt.  Sterling, Kentucky.

The all-female quartet will present Ms. Anderson's "Pennyroyal Swale",
"Rosemary Swale", "January Swale" and "March Swale", followed by the
composer discussing her music.  Ms. Anderson will also be visiting two
area schools that day to speak to their young musicians and will attend
the premiere performance of her new hymn We Thank Thee, with words by
R.W.  Emerson, at the First Christian Church in Mt.  Sterling on Sunday,
November 2.

A major concert of Beth Anderson's music, "Swales and Angels" will be
presented on November 19, 2003 - 8 PM at Carnegie Hall's Weill Recital
Hall, 154 W.  57th St., New York.

Belgium's Rubio String Quartet will perform a series of Ms. Anderson's
Swale quartets and Joseph Kubera will be soloist in her Piano Concerto
for string orchestra, percussion and piano. The Angel will be sung by
soprano Jessica Marsten with harp, celeste, 2 violins, viola and cello
(words by Hans Christian Andersen/Anthony Calabrese).  Other performers
will include conductor Gary Schneider, percussionist David Rozenblatt,
flutist Andrew Bolotowsky, harpist Andre Tarantiles and string bassist
Darren Campbell.
