Walter on Hilary Hahn:

>Back in 1998, when she was 17, I heard her playing Prokoffiev's First
>Violin Concerto w/ the St. Louis Symphony Orchestra conducted by Hans
>Vonk at the Kennedy Center in Washington. It was a magnificent experience.

And I remember hearing some quite extraordinary Bach violin on the car
radio five or six years ago. So impressive that I had to pull off the road
and stop to listen properly. I didn't know who the violinist was until it
was announced afterwards. Hilary, of course.
