Canadians are indeed coo coo for cmt's. There is a handbook and
a couple of research papers which can be downloaded from the
provincial government archaeology web site.

'Culturally Modified Trees of British Columbia: A Handbook for the
Identification and Recording of Culturally Modified Trees' can be
