Dear Nate,
I don't know a darn thing about the U of L, but I do know this:
Just about any program is good if what they offer is what you want. So
instead of starting with the institution, start with yourself. (Oh-oh, this
is turning into a zen post.)
Work out what YOU want from a graduate education. What do you want it to do
for you? Then, as soon as the fall term starts phone up as many university
graduate advisors as you can and talk to them. They should be asking what
YOU want to get out of their program and working with you to determine if
their one's the right one for you. They should be advisors, not salesmen.
If they aren't communicative, that may tell you something about the level of
attention you can expect in their program. If they come on like an AT&T
telemarketer, check your wallet and back away slowly.
High-Ho Silver!
