Aloha,
My .02 here too. When my son had his first eye surgery at around 14 months,
he was supposed to have nothing after midnite---water was okay until about
4am, I believe. Well my son woke up about 3am and wanted to nurse and did.
When we checked in at the hospital around 7am---I wasn't worried----figured
it was all digested by this time. I did slip about the breastmilk to the
nurse when she asked if he had anything. She freaked--went to his
doctor--who was not concerned. I never said anything prior to surgery, but
then he was not an infant--so I was not too worried---he did not wake often
at night to nurse at this point.
Aloha,
Gloria Thai
