HEY SKIP!!! - I found another source of that good stuff for ya :)
And Allen is familiar with this stuff too - remember the 3oz sample I
sent you back in '99?. This was your response: (Got the sample and my
first reaction was: "Is this stuff toxic?")
I sent one to Andy for his opinion but unfortunate circumstances
intervened.
Time is the secret - lots of time. Store your harvest in a sealed
plastic bucket for, oh, about two years. By then it will have solidified
and require warming to liquify. Filter it while warm.
You said it tastes 'OK' - I don't particularly care for the flavor but
I've actually had people ask specifically for goldenrod honey, go
figure. And someone on this list said they were selling it for a
premium price. There may be a goldmine in goldenrod, but I make an
effort to take my share of honey before it blooms in the fall. My bees
seem to winter very well on goldenrod so its a win-win kinda thing.
