Anyone who shares my passion for 16th century French ceramics or just vaguely interested if you can read a bit of French may find a virtual exhibition of interest. It is to accompany an actual exhibition about to close in Parthenay (near Poitiers in W. France) on Renaisance ceramics: http://www.cc-parthenay.fr/saint-porchaire/sommaire.htm.
It has photos of a variety of St Porchaire and Saintonge ware vessels and metal/glass vessels of the period and sections on cusine and table -ware and a section summarising finds from recent excavations in the Poiou-Charente (will these ever see publication given the collapse of the developer tax for archaeology and INRAP - the French archaeological excavation service). By the way if you try and follow links back to the museum it looks like part of the website has been highjacked by a commercial service- I have emailed the museum.
