Carl, as I said, I get to read everyone's first drafts, so I'm doubtful of your
claim. But I'm pleased that historians take writing more seriously than
archaeologists do in graduate instruction.

It would be a good idea to  run some writing workshops at ACRA, SHA, or SAA if
someone wants to organize it. I'd be happy to be involved and can suggest other
folks who know the Chicago Style Manual far better than I ever will.

Now back to that tortuous dissertation that someone wants us to publish...
