Hi to our new list readers
I am one of the more remote Histarchers being in Adelaide, South
Australia. My area of interest is the archaeology of institutions and
houses, l admit to an unending fascination with how people arrange their
houses and the spaces around them. I spend many train journeys
contemplating what might be inside the houses l regularly pass. I am also
interested in the archaeology of diseases and ceramics. I am presently
working as a researcher on the Hills Face Zone project here at Flinders
University, which is a large project tracing activities within the Adelaide
Hills Face Zone (which included quarrying, timber cutting, and experimental
nurseries and orchards) and identifying cultural landscapes within the
area. The project is creating a GIS database to help local councils
administer the cultural heritage in their area. Like most Australian
archaeologists l tend to be interested in all kinds of archaeology and have
experienced many happy years of email reading on Histarch.
                                         cheers
                                           Susan
