There may be a worthy 2nd place?, for example EMI's Callas/Bergonzi/Gobbi,
conducted by Pretre (1965)? Unfortunately the only thing that I have heard
yet of the former version are (good) notices, but a single note of it.
I expect to fix this situation soon.  Meanwhile, what are the differences
--of course, if they can be described-- with this 1965 version (the only
I've heard by Callas)?
