In this context, it would be worthwhile revisiting Bernstein's Mass -
designed for the quadraphonic era and with SQ surround sound in mind rather
than the concert hall.  The celebrant is deliberately placed at different
sound points which are almost impossible to reproduce in a concert hall,
even the Kennedy Centre (DC) of the original production.  The LP (+ the
right equipment) produced the precise location surprisingly effectively.
