I seem to remember, on Radio Three, Salvatore Accardo telling us that at
12 years old he had to decide between becoming a Professional Footballer
and a Singer.  John Shirley Quirk was, I believe a bio-chemist? Anthony
Rolfe Johnson of the beautiful "Cadbury's Dairy MilkChocolate Smooth"
tenor voice, I understand is a qualified Dairyman.  At least no-pun
intended-well, not quite unintended, they all have a second "string to
their bow"!
