I don't know this particular disc, but there's a deal of Shostakovich's
lighter music available. Some examples: Neeme Jarvi's 2-CD Chandos set
(CHAN7000/1, TT=114:36) includes five ballet suites, a suite from Katerina
Ismailova, and the Festive Overture - the fifth suite is The Bolt in
disguise. Naxos 8.553299, TT=76:31, has suites from The Gadfly and Five
Days Five Nights. Last time I checked Berkshire Record Outlet's online
catalogue, they were offering a number of his film scores on Capriccio.
