   You might query IBM re software to read period Spanish script.  Once upon
a time, (early '90s) they were building software to read the script of the
Archives of the Indies.  I don't know what came of it.  h ellis

A spin-off from the Spanish coin thread.  Does anyone have suggestions for
aides in reading Spanish colonial manuscript documents?  The handwriting
itself is a challenge, as are abbreviations and phrasing conventions.
