Howard is very good, but unfortunately he is too fast in the slow movement.
d'Ascoli (he is blind, BTW) produce a very consistent interpretation,
but I wish he was more demonic in the fugato section.  I've got it on
LP, but it is reissued on CD on a different label.

Finally, avoid Perlmuter on Nimbus.
