Though I am certainly no expert on this sonata, I must report that hearing
Martha Argerich's performance (on DG) was one of the exciting experiences
that drew me into paying serious attention to classical recordings. It
was a combination of the structure of the piece and the way in which she
attacked it. Subsequently I have heard other versions, but it is still
hers that stirs the blood for me.
