Good point, Elizabeth, I taught humanities at the local community college
in the '70's. In respect to music I did not set out to convert the masses,
took the approach that by enhancing their listening skills, those who
applied them would be lead to more intelligent music. Seems to have
worked as over the years I have run into former students at Symphony
concerts who made a point of telling me that was the spark.
