Although Beethoven's two Sonatas for Cello and keyboard Opus 5 aren't
exactly neglected, I don't think they get the attention they deserve.
Each represents the best of Beethoven's young adulthood with their
energy and enthusiasm.

Best of all, I find them so evocative of the time period when played
on period instruments, particularly by Cohen/Coin on Harmonia Mundi.
Modern instrument versions just can't do justice to these two works.
