Including the Escudero, this four-disc set is notable for its collection
of performances (long out of print) led by the gifted Spanish conductor
Argenta, who died prematurely in 1958 under obscure circumstances.
Inexplicably, for what it does include, it is missing what many considered
The conductor's most prized recording, his "Symphonie Fantastique" with
the Paris Conservatory Concerts Orchestra.
