I read the Atlantic Monthly article.  Although I didn't read anything
which was surprising, the article was still depressing.  The 'subjects' who
are used for all the sampling, surveys, and focus groups are beating up on
us.  They detest organ music, want no part of vocal music, and think that
a Mozart string quartet is only acceptable if it has good momentum and
doesn't get bogged down in the slow music.

The programmers even have the *right* music for the particular time of day;
it's no wonder I pass through Vivaldi every morning on the way to work.

After reading this uplifting document, I made a sweep of all my recorded
music just to satisfy myself that I'll be prepared for the Apocalypse.
The results were good:  Scriabin 40 - Vivaldi 0.  Scriabin helps promote
survival skills, and there won't be any morning traffic jams once the
Apocalypse hits.
