Well Iain the rumour is true, but I can't give away a publication date for
that one yet. It looks like it will have some pretty stiff competition from
Burke and Smith for the hearts and trowels of the up and coming generation
at any rate, which is undoubtedly a good thing given the time since the last
major substantive contributions in Aust. field methods. I for one will be
rushing out to grab a fresh steaming copy of the Flinders publication -
which sounds FAB. Bear in mind that the Revised PA Procedures Manual, as
was its predecessor, is strictly HA, and deals with methods employed at PA,
so it won't cover Indigenous archaeology, regional surveys etc. But do
expect beefy sections on GPS, GIS, Geofiz, Laser scanning, finds processing
etc. More of a 'how to' for PA, rather than an entry level guide to general
practice. (Oops I have now officially said too much - bugger!)
Cheers for now.
Greg

Yes but as it isn't published till October they may not take your order (I
tried and got a warning to check stock levels).
It does look good but does not excited me as much as the rumour of the
return of the Port Arthur Archaeological Proceedures Manual.
