That series of recordings was tremendously exciting; as David says the
Tchaik 6 is amazing - the most searing performance I know. The Shostakovich
10 from the same series is also incandescent. The Beethoven symphonies (1,3)
are more interesting than essential.
But that Tchaik 6 should be in everybody's collection.
