Ron Chaplin asks:

One of my favourite Sunday morning discs, Ron (it's on as I type) --
truly uplifting music, no matter it's "serious" content (and there's a
whole argument about the "worth" of music I'm not going to get into at
this point!)

Shostakovich's music has been a favourite of mine for years. His lighter
music is part of the reason I stick at trying to "relearn" the violin
after a thirty year absence -- I bought sheet music arrangements of the
Second Waltz from the Jazz Suite and the Romance from The Gadfly to give
me something to aim at. The target's a long way off....but at least I
can see it!
