Although I tend to agree, I must register a dissenting opinion.  While I
don't like everything Zappa did by any means, he had a great deal of talent
and an original voice.

Keith Emerson, OTOH, was a found member of two "bombastic messes" (good
phrase):  The Nice and Emerson, Lake and Palmer.

IMHO nobody who participated in a "rock" version of Bernstein's America
which took the 6/8 original and cast it into 4/4 has any claim to respect
from classical musicians.

And then there was Jon Lord's "Concerto for Rock Group and Orchestra"....
